Why join UCU? 

UCU represents the interests of over 120,000 members, making it the largest union in the world for people working in post-school education.

But I’m not an academic! 

UCU isn’t just for university lecturers (although of course they are an important part of our membership)! We cover universities, colleges, prisons, adult education and other post-16 training providers and our membership includes academics, lecturers, teachers, trainers, instructors, researchers, administrators, managers, computer staff, librarians, postgraduate teaching assistants and other education professionals.

I’m not a full time employee and I’m concerned about the cost
