David Conway – Branch Chair

David is Head of Student Futures and has been a active member of UCU for over ten years.

Prior to joining UON, David was a UCU branch officer at the Open University. He was also an elected member of the national Academic-related and Professional Services Committee between 2019 and 2021.

In 2025, David was nominated for the TUC Midlands ‘Trade Union Organiser of the Year Award’.

Outside of UON, David is a committee member of the Northampton Trades Council, political journalist, community organiser and keen distance runner.

David was elected Branch Chair in November 2024 and re-elected in July 2025.
